A talented hairstylist, Adelaja Taiwo Adebola, has beaten other contestants to become the face of Lush hair.

The event was organized at Laspotech by the Student Union Government (SUG) in collaboration with Lush Hair Nigeria.

Adelaja Taiwo Adebola, a student of HND 1 in the Department of Biochemistry, was among the candidates and luckily, he got the job after showing off his creative “afro heartbeat” hairstyle. He also received the sum of N50,000.

In a conversation with Legit.ngAdelaja explained how he emerged victorious.

“I competed for the lush hair face and won. I competed with different hairdressers from different faculties and departments in the school.

“I came out on top creating a very distinct and creative hairstyle that I labeled ‘Afro Heartbeat’ due to the pressure to create a distinct and dynamic hairstyle in a short period of time.

“I will say that being a creative stylist is something that runs through you personally. Being able to create something dynamic that’s not only pleasing to the eye but also very distinct is a great talent, especially as a male hairstylist in the women’s sector. “, says Adelaja.

My plans for the future

Talking about his plans for the comingAdelaja said he wanted to be able to turn people into kings and queens.

“In the future, I want to create an avenue where different genders can enter the saloon or the store even if they are not beautiful and be able to turn them into elegant queens or kings because I think all genders are beautiful in their own way.

“Transforming them includes their massage of the face, hair, skin, body and whatever they want and if possible create an avenue where they also have a fabric already made for them (like a line of fabric) whether it is to be sewn or already made.”

13-year-old girl beats women in hairdressing contest

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a video showing a 13 year old girl in a styling contest with women old enough to be his mother sparked reactions online.

In a short TikTok video, the child confidently shared clumps of hair in her hand as she weaved it with incredible dexterity. As she worked with speed, she never thought twice about her move before executing them while battling against time.
