Student union election in Rajasthan: Petition for easing age limit rejected: Judge says education is more important than elections in student life

The High Court of Rajasthan was unable to obtain relief for students on the petition to relax the age limit for students. Acting CJ MM Srivastava said studies are more important than elections in student life. You are not prevented from reading. So study well. At the same time, the hearing on Narendra Yadav’s application for admission could not be heard today.
In fact, due to corona infection in Rajasthan, student union elections have not been held for the past 2 years. At the same time, this time the vote for the student union election will take place on August 26th. In such a situation, a large number of student leaders present their demands to try their luck in the student union elections. There are a large number of such students among them. Those who have not been able to stand for election in the past 2 years. But this time his age limit has crossed 25 years. For this reason, he had applied for a relaxation of the age limit with the High Court.
After the High Court ruling, the hopes of students hoping to contest student union elections were dashed. Student Leader Lokendra said – We have not been able to contest elections for the past 2 years due to corona infection. At the same time, when the opportunity to run for office came up, the age limit restriction bound us. Which is completely false. Just as the government has granted a relaxation of age to young people in competitions. He should have made concessions to the student leaders as well. Seven students, including student leaders Sanjay Chech, Narendra Yadav and Rahul Meena, had sought a relaxation of the age limit in the High Court.
Student leader Sanjay Chechi said that I have been working as an active student leader of ABVP for 5 years. In 2020, the student union was preparing to contest the election. But because of Corona, the elections have not taken place for the past two years. At the same time, I am now 26 years old. In such a situation, according to the rules, I can no longer participate in the student union elections.
