At JCCC, education is not limited to lectures and laboratories. We provide many opportunities for Cavaliers to learn through involvement in clubs, organizations, and campus activities. Students get the chance to meet new people with similar passions and have fun along the way – it’s a win-win!

Students have a choice of several clubs and organizations

With over 50 student-run clubs and organizations – at JCCC there’s a group that appeals to nearly every hobby and interest.

  • Black Student Union (BSU) was created to enhance the experience of minority groups through the core principles of education, community engagement, activism, networking and unity. All students interested in these subjects are welcome.
  • Five executive officers and 25 senators at large make up the JCCC Student Senate. They provide government representation for the student body and allocate funds to student organizations.
  • Latinos united now and always (LUNA) focuses on bringing cultures together. Meetings focus on celebrating aspects of Latin American culture, concerns of immigrants and their families, and other topics of interest. Follow their latest events and activities on instagram.
  • Model United Nations (UN) encourages student participation, promotes international awareness, and provides valuable educational – and life – experiences through a model United Nations General Assembly. Students act as ambassadors while debating various topics, such as gender equality, climate action, and global health. JCCC’s impressive Model UN team is known for receive exceptional delegations at national conferences.
  • The JC Student Veterans of America group supports and empowers students who are related to military service. This club is not just for military veterans and JCCC dependents, but all military supporters.

JCCC Student Engagement Center is available to help students find their niche and ways to get involved on campus. Students are also invited to submit recommendations for starting new clubs or organizations.

JCCC has vibrant student life opportunities

In addition to joining clubs and organizations, students can participate in fun activities throughout the JCCC campus. The Student lounge is a great place to meet up with friends or make new ones. Students enjoy televisions with the latest video game systems, ping pong and foosball tables, board games and much more. Parties, game tournaments and contests are often held in the Student Lounge.

In addition, our student activities team organizes a variety of events — like lunchtime trivia and tailgate parties — throughout the semester. From student wellness programs to Cav Kickoff and Friday Hangouts, students will never be bored between classes.

The full college experience students receive at JCCC is not complete without our award-winning athletics program. Students show their Cavalier pride by cheering on our seven teams, including men’s and women’s basketball and soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball – each highly regarded in the region and country.

It’s not too late to register

At JCCC, we are always enrolling new students, even after the start of a semester. For maximum flexibility, we offer short-term courses that start mid-semester as an accelerated alternative to a standard 16-week course. Students taking short courses have access to all campus resources and participation opportunities.
