Casa Noturna crowned the UK’s top VALORANT student team at the Red Bull Campus Clutch to qualify for Brazil’s World Finals – European Gaming Industry News

Casa Noturna have been crowned the UK’s Best VALORANT Student Team at the Red Bull Campus Clutch UK Grand Finals, at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere.

The British champions beat Last Dance in a tense 2:0 Grand Final and, in turn, qualified for the Red Bull Campus Clutch World Final in Brazil in December. Casa Noturna will now fight for a prize of €20,000 along with an exclusive VIP experience at a VALORANT Champions Tour 2023 event.

In the Southern Finals, Last Dance picked up a 2-0 win over Just Essentials to book their place in the Finals, with dominating victories over Haven and Bind to seal it in just two maps. The North Final between Casa Noturna and Birmingham Bulls was incredibly tense as the two tied teams battled for momentum. Casa Noturna finally booked their place in the Grand Final with a 2-1 victory, with the team pulling off a stunning comeback on the third map from 8-1 to 10-13.

The Grand Finals kicked off on Ascent, where Casa Noturna took the early lead with a 13-5 victory, setting up a tense second map over Pearl. Last Dance fought back to take an early lead at 6-1 and looked to take the game to the finish, but Casa Noturna dug in with an epic comeback to win the game 13-8.

Reflecting on their path to victory, Casa Noturna’s Ben ‘Benzki’ Price said: “We had a really tough run today, Birmingham Bulls were tough opponents and Last Dance was also tough but we stayed. calm and used our experience. I think we have a really good team here, all the guys played their roles really well, even though they were in roles they wouldn’t normally play. They kept their cool under pressure and I think that was the main reason we were able to win this afternoon.

The finals were broadcast live on The Goose House, hosted by Matt ‘Twiggy’ Twigg and Vicki ‘Gottmoxi’ Johnson, and after the event Gottmoxi said, “I think they have a really good chance of winning everything. the tournament in December – they showed today that they can adapt very well on every map, they have a brilliant agent pool and they were able to pull out all the stops and turn things in their favor whenever they needed it, which is a brilliant attribute to have as a team that is going to be incredibly valuable in the World Finals.

Red Bull Campus Clutch kicked off in August, with National Qualifiers taking place around the world and National Finals determining the top student team from each participating country. So far, this year’s tournament has featured more than 4,500 teams, with 25,000 participants and more than 300 domestic events.

Soon there will be just 50 teams left, all heading straight to Sao Paulo, Brazil for this epic in-person LAN final. In the UK, over 400 players across 81 teams competed in the regional qualifying rounds to reach the UK finals, with four qualifier winners earning a place at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London for the LAN finals.

The Red Bull Campus Clutch Global Final will take place from December 13-16, 2022, with the final stages streamed live on Red Bull Twitch. Taking place at the Estádio do Pacaembu, famously used for several matches of the 1950 World Cup, 50 teams will kick off the tournament, in the first matches of the group stage which will take place from the 13th to the 14th. From there, the remaining teams will face off in a playoff format, with the grand final taking place on December 16.
